Working with staff and volunteers at Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens

TheVERYidea artists worked in partnership with Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens to deliver training on Creative Play to staff and volunteers, as well as practitioners from local early years settings and Schools. The practical workshops aimed to support ongoing, family-based learning at Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens and develop volunteers’ confidence in, and knowledge and understanding of, ways to provoke open-ended, creative outdoor play and learning.

The artists shared practical ideas and strategies for developing an approach to stimulate creative, child-led, outdoor experiences using a wide range of open-ended natural, recycled and found materials. Louise and Barbara modelled possibilities, advised on no or low-cost resources and helped the team collate ideas and make action plans for a Big Creative Family Play Day and ongoing opportunities for children and families to explore the wonderful environment at the Gardens.
